Southwest Office of Research Institute of Medium & Small Shipbuilding tries to establish an aluminum small vessel development support center for setting up the small & medium business support system that supports design, production technology and performance test evaluation technology for aluminum small shipbuilding business.

Development direction

  • Avoid high dependence on large shipyards and promote the aluminum small vessel industry that can firmly endure the economy fluctuation (boom and bust)
  • Promote small aluminum vessels (fishing boats, leisure cruise ships, etc.) relatively less sensitive to the shipbuilding economy and reduce the overall risk of the shipbuilding industry according to market conditions

Support the production technology of marine leisure in the southwest region

Southwest Office conducts supports R&D of shipbuilding, equipment, and marine leisure enterprises in the southwest region and provides corporate support with the use of research equipment. Southwest Office has fifty two types of research equipment (eighteen types of composites, thirteen types of light alloys, six types of interior materials, and fifteen), and helps enterprises use commonly research equipment to manufacture a variety of test products and create high profits and employment.
